8 Miles run at the year end of 2014

Bye bye, 2014.

I ran 8 miles today. Since I did not run much after the CIM race,
I felt heavy until the last mile. I think I would run slowly for the
next a few days as well.

For the year 2014, I completed total of 2178 miles. I think I can
run 2200 miles next year.

Here are the splits for the run today:

10 Mile mile run with Stephen

Steve is training for his April Boston Marathon. And last week
we scheduled to run together this morning so that we do not
have to run on the Christmas day.

My legs still hurts a little bit though I had the tape yesterday.
And Hideshi said that I should be ok. I debated a little Tuesday
whether I should run or not. But I decided to do so since I need
to learn how to run when the leg hurts. It does happen some time
during the race.

Steve finished a speed workout for total of 10 miles. I told him that
10 miles would be too much for a speed work. For Hansons, The maximum
I would do will be 8 miles, with 2 miles warm up and 2 miles slow down.
So we decided to run slower than the pace of 8.

It was foggy in the morning. We could not see much until after mile 4.
It was so good to run in the neighborhood in the foggy morning(or dark).
I felt a little bit pain, but it was a good time to learn how to push the left leg.
I remembered that coach asked to practice to push the left once. And today
was the perfect time.

After the mile 4, I could not notice much of the pain. But still not sure
whether I would push again next time during the race. I am the kind of
person who protected too much about myself so that I can run longer.
(I plan to run till the age of 75).

3.5 Miles Run and Cramp again

Tried to run 6 miles slowly. But I got a cramp after mile 2.
It was the worst one and I stopped for sometime. And decided to
turn around and get back. It did not go away after a few minutes
break. So I decided to learn how to run it through. It was very tough
and the pace reduced to 12:45; and then 13:40. I know how hard
it is for bad cramps. I think I should do some foam rolling yesterday
after the biking and running.

Another 7 miles

It is a little bit faster. My running friends asked to run slowly since
it is still 2nd week after the race. I felt hard for the first two miles, then
felt much better after that.

Talked to Thursday running group, and I will resume the training with them
stating this Thursday.

After the 7 miles run, I tested ride an Elliptigo bike for 70 minutes. It was
my first ride, it was a good try and I think I will buy one next week.
